This is the presumably very successful thief who flies as a hobby. Previously, he may have led us to believe he was an entrepreneur, who'd used his skills to work out a way to make things people wanted and did so in a way whereby he could sell his products for more then he made them for: ie he traded. He used his skills to generate a living for himself, and did so sufficiently well to spread his success widely enough to employ people to help him to do so, thereby giving emplyment and prosperity to numerous others. But no - actually, it turns out he was just a con artist, stealing from people. What an amazing system that allows such tricksters to make fools of us all. The means, whether trade, trickery or simple extortion, is irrelevant. It is to socialists, yes. That's their cardinal error: they deny there's any difference. Roughly speaking, yes. Fact of life. Read your Darwin. You acquire it be providing people with what they want - what they're willing to give you their money for. Do that, and you're providing a public service, are you not? Not forcibly extracting it from them, like Aqua and Jean do: it's a deal, a free trade. You want this, this product or service I've used my ingenuity to make? It's so much. Presumably you'd have been happy living under Caesar or Hitler or Stalin or Pol Pot or Kim il-Jong, then. No differnce, yes? All just a con?

It wasn't a question, It was a command. The request is indeed formulated as a grammatical imperative. It was written in response to this: ...I suggest...that if you don't like being called a fool or a twit, and you really can't help yourself being either, you avoid your habitual indirect insults too - save them for your WI meetings, when you're bitching about Ms.Haversham's rhubarb jam. and (quite reasonably) asks you for actual examples of the 'indirect insults' to which you refer. So...can you provide any instances, or not?

Not a request then, under anyone's definition.
Yes. I could.

I ask, therefore, that you do so.

I ask, therefore, that you do so. Well, you may do. But (a) I don't see what it has to do with you; and (b) I'm struggling to arouse any interest in the subject: why should I be bothered? You're asking me to review adolescent witterings on a past thred to extract specific insulting content, yes? No interest - I know when I'm being insulted: I respond accordingly. I don't initiate such insults - I don't need to. I'm not your class of people. I think, and discourse reasonably, and enjoy it when people disagree - reasonably, politely - with me.

Well, this is a public messageboard, and I am genuinely curious about what anyone has said to you here that you could possibly construe as an insult. Even an indirect one.
I am forced to conclude, sadly, that you don't give examples because you can't.

You're not curious in the least - I've never seen the slightest indication in all the years I've known you that you're curious about anything. You know it all already. If you were remotely curious in this question, you could review the thread and see for yourself: end of story. Conclude what you like. You live in fairyland, as far as I'm concerned. A nice Green fairyland, ruled by the Lubyanka and the Gulags.

I was curious enough to read the thread. And I can't see a single insult directed at you.
Can you see any I've missed, aqua?

I was curious enough to read the thread. And I can't see a single insult directed at you. You're exactly the same type. A bit of authority it goes to your heads. Aqua can't help you! He can't even decide how you should make a cup of tea! He'd need a hundred civil servants working up a working document before he'd even make a limp joke about the matter, and even then he wouldn't sign off on it.

No he can't! He can't find anything because there's nothing to find. So here we are - not a single insult directed at you such as would justify those replies. Let's start again, then. No insults from you, unless you can point to at least one prior insult directed at you by someone else. And merely disagreeing with you doesn't count as an insult. Agreed?

Not a request then, under anyone's definition. Yes. I could. mrsonde, I politely ask you to show any instances, from this discussion, where I have given any insults to you at all.

No he can't! He can't find anything because there's nothing to find. So here we are - not a single insult directed at you such as would justify those replies. We'll just have to agree to disagree, as usual. The agreement required is not from me: it's from Fascinating and you and people like you. As you're the ones who seem remotely concerned with the issue, I suggest you follow my recommendations.
