First off, we have this prime example of ignorance as regards civil partnerships from our gloroius leader. Having a 'wife' (ie a female married partner) DOESN'T mean that I view myself as the 'husband', and it shows a rather stunning lack of tact to imply that it does.
Except it's NOT normal english usage when gay people are concerned, where we have wife and wife, or husband and husband, because civil partner and civil partner is just too much of a mouthful!
Plus 'normal' is rather an emotive word to use in this context. Plus we have a new legal relationship, hence new usage, and would seem common courtesy to see what the new usage is before berating others........................
And second, after being berated for using the word 'id**t', seems that fool is okay, if this is to be taken as an example.
So, can I call certain posters 'self-obsessed fools' as well............................
I DON'T mind rules, I just get very miffed when they are seemingly applied to some people, but not to others...................
