Yep, the Braer crude was quite similar viscosity to the BP gulf spill - hence the rapid natural dispersal of this natural resource. Dead birds? How many birds are killed by hurricanes each year? or wind turbines

The point I was trying to make is, it is still there, albeit in a different form.
Evaporation will only apply to the lighter fractions, and the residues will be there for a very long time until they are consumed by marine organisms.
But it is comforting to know that Transocean are being sued, though they are claiming they are only responsible for what actually escaped from the rig, not for what escaped from the well!
This one could run a bit in the US courts. 20 years or so?
