I can't recall the last power cut in this country. Last Tuesday, at least round here. Possibly caused by a bloody windmill being struck by lightning whilst it was feathered because the wind was too strong to generate electricity safely. Don't confuse intentional power shedding, as demanded by Edward Heath to punish the proletariat for daring to disagee with him, with power supply failures, which was the subject of my original posting.

You'd think with all the doom and gloom now being spouted about an electricity generation crisis in the offing and ever more price rises being inevitable that the entire world was not now awash with shale gas and shale oil deposits! When will the alarmists and the powers that be admit that shale gas is a game changer and all previous bets are off?
