Great Telly soundtracks theme, then. For Jon Hamm, Mad Men, David Lynch, and other geniuses, such as the guy who took the trouble to make this vid.

This is from The Walking Dead, series...whatever. Now, you might be one of those who've never watched it, and so you're thinking "great telly?". But I think this is probably the most profound TV series ever made. Forget the zombies - that's what Hitchcock would've called the McGuffin. Think of them as socialists, or bankers, whatever, and you might even enjoy the distraction of them getting their heads bashed in. The point of this series - at least after series three, when serious heavy-duty writers got involved, is it's an allegory - an allegory of how human societies politically organise themselves, or how civilisation builds itself. What are its enemies? It's not zombies, unless they're socialists or bankers, 'spose, but other people, in particular the ones who see themselves as the strong, or predatory. You can see Negan - the most chilling, horrific character ever written, in any form of lit, as representing - what? Our current liberal-lefty system, basically. What? How is he different, then?
The parallel with the Left would be David Morrissey's character, the polity he imposes - give me all your stuff, basically, and I'll keep you safe (calling him The General was surely a nod to Orwell.) Negan just demands half of it, like Obama. Sweden demands 60% of it, so he's not quite as brutal and dictatorial as you might have thought.

Back to the earlier Beth Hart theme for a moment, the Too Good-Looking to be Lesbian theme.

Delighted to discover yesterday that Wilco isn't dead after all. More proof that hip-hop and grunge hasn't entirely killed decent pop:

The producers of the last theme cannot be held responsible for whether the above strictly qualifies or no, so we are returning to our earlier coverage, with music from unmissable telly.
True Detective, not Teen Wolf (it was on Walking Dead, too.)

Not Townes', but Jolie is far better - a few covers are.

A must-see film, for anyone who values Western democracy and the foundations essential to its survival.
Especially for anyone who still doesn't realise how deeply dangerous, undermining and treacherous to those principles Obama and Clinton really were.

Talking of good Pimms days, and inciting riots, I started a nice little row yesterday between my in-laws, both in their late 80s, but one apparently with younger hearing than the other - you decide which. The audio equivalent of the blue/white dress controversy:
If you hear Laurel, you're still as sprightly as me, and you should get ratarsed to celebrate, like wot I do. Or maybe it's as decrepit - I can't remember which is supposed to be which now.
