I you wish, tell us a few words here about yourself and your science interests and/or expertise.

Hello, I am retired in the south of France, where I have lived and worked for the past 36 years. We spend winter in our house in the Philippines. I am no expert on anything except travelling the world installing web-offset printing presses but I still love to learn. I shall sit quietly in my corner doing my best to follow.

Hello. I am retired but have always had an interest in science despite not possessing any academic qualifications. I just hope people will decide to patronise this MB enough to make it interesting. After all, we can all think, can't we?

I'm 63, a "lady of leisure" living in Leeds after being self-employed since age 27. I studied no science at school and just touched on statistics while studying Sociology at university. I have become a convinced sceptic in the last three and a half years since "The Great Global Warming Swindle" provoked me to look deeper into the matter. Before that I accepted (passively) how the IPCC's ideologues spun the story. Yes I AM one of that ever-growing number who has changed her mind through being better acquainted with the "evidence", or rather absence of it.

Hi everyone, I'm a fisherman from the North of Scotland, I studied agriculture many years ago and have a 7 month old son. I stood as a UKIP candidate at the last election and came last Trebled the vote, kept my deposit and got the best UKIP result in Scotland - but still last. I joined these boards a year or so ago to voice my frustrations about the green propaganda that was being fed to us as "facts". I want the truth and accuracy from people with integrity. Don't you?

Hi, somehow my reputation precedes me.
Arch-nemesis! ;D
I first posted on the soon to be old R4 board a few weeks ago and got so much abuse by certain posters that I replied in the same vein, only with more flare and wit of course
But I'm only interested in the science and it isn't encouraging to see some with political agendas here already.
I don't normally say anything about my qualifications because anything I do say, I'd like to think is supported by research and does not rely on me saying it true because I'm qualified to tell them.
But in the spirit of sharing and for one time only;
I'm approaching middle age, have a science degree and done some post grad work mostly in technology and IT, including computer modelling (which did include weather and climate modelling post grad).
I work as an engineer for a pharma company and lecture part time at college in IT.
I'm not much of an environmentalist - two car family, motor sport fan, up to 1/2 a dozen flights a year, including long haul if I can afford it. So I have a lot to lose with any regulations that could affect emissions - but being rational I must accept any arguments based on the best science and not pseudo-science, political ideals or conspiracy theories.

Hello, many of you may know me from the BBC message boards. I'm principally interested in science although I do tend to digress on occasions; there's nothing wrong with a bit of chat every now and then is there? I gained a combined honours degree in geology and chemistry from Liverpool University and have post graduate qualifications in related fields. Worked for many years on research projects in the oil industry, didn't find this too fulfilling and after several years turned to education. I teach general science and chemistry up to A Level.

I have to add to the above that I'm often really busy so there are gaps between flurries of posting and silence. I won't be adding a lot to the climate change debates. Though I am interested in the science I find the 'robust' exchanges some of the more libertarian contributors enjoy are a little beyond the pale for my sensibilities these days.
This may change.

Uncle Pumblechook is a Dickens character...a bit of a know-all who claims all the credit.. Very apt. I was written off at 11... In a B class.. Didn't even get a chance to take the 11 plus. I did the 13 plus and went on to get a degree at Leeds Uni, Electronic Engineering. I worked on TV and Radio transmission for the BBC and then ran a business supplying some of the World's biggest companies. I am now a lazy so-and-so but I have just bought a bungalow in order to 'do it up' for sale later.

Hi - I was educated at the same school as Isaac Newton. I wasn't there at the same time as he was, but I think we both suffered at the hands of the same teachers.
By training and inclination I am a behavioural scientist.
