Im a Firefox man myself but Im tempted with the good reviews of Chrome. It just seems an effort to get it the way I like. Any preference ?

Run them along side one another. Trouble is that the tracking is used to pay for the service, anything accessed will be recorded. Probably a good time to make the point of only using one window when accessing on line banks etc, so that bugs and cookies are a minimum. Don't bank whilst say talking on line, beware the key stroke loggers. Firefox will load all sorts of tracking goodies, like ip address indicators, earthquake news, well You must know... StuartG

I have no trouble with FF, although that may be because my favourite site is optimised for it.

I have no trouble with FF, although that may be because my favourite site is optimised for it. I just love the add ons like those that spell check and remove adverts. I'm sure other browsers now have them too but when I use another PC with IE as standard it is a truly awful experience. However Chrome is supposed to be fast, I have installed it but I use so many book marks and everything is organised just so, I think it would take an age to get it just right.

Isn't FF somewhat safer to use because the malware guys tend to target IE, as it currently enjoys a much greater market share?

I think the FF community also respond faster to security issues - there were times over the Summer when FF was updated almost daily when I logged on.

I use mostly Safari for general work, Firefox for searching and bookmarking and Chrome for the silly grunty boards. This one is on Safari.

Well if you want to browse they all work pretty well - but Opera declares it sticks to the standard - which means there are a lot of sites that do funny things on it. I test cresby.com on Mozilla 1.7.8, IE 5.5 FF2, FF3.6.10 (portable) and various IE's I can find, Chrome and Opera and Safari when I can. They all do the job generally - But at least on FF2 I can refuse Flash downloads - (they are eye candy and rarely information) (Because I design for the lowest common denominator and not the bubble mentality)

While I have other browsers, I tend to stick with Firefox (as in if it works, don't fix it).
I tried Chrome and had problems with it, so dumped it.
