I was with her up until 'Why the log?' After that I almost went into a coma! Why the heck does she have to complicate everything? Just basic concepts in plain language is enough and then we can ask questions, if required. I thought this was the traditional way of learning, i.e. Q & A.

Except logs aren't complicated -- if you can do powers, you can do logs -- or even your pocket calculator can if you're stuck............
It's not ME, it's the basic physics. You seemed quite happy with logs when NM used them in information theory and coding, so why pretend you're not when I use them....................

Well, ok, logs aren't that bad but we don't really need maths at this stage. What we need is an intuitive grasp of the concept, the maths can wait. One step at a time. |
