Atomic bomb is a misnomer, since what matters is nuclear reactions, not atomic stuff.
As regards nuclear reactions, two sorts, fission and fusion.
So, first atomic bombs were fission bombs -- have enough heavy radioactive elements like uranium and plutonium, and you can make them go bang. Just need to fire a slug of your fissile material at another chunk, and create a large enough chunk for fission reaction to become so vigorous that you get a very large bang.
Hydrogen bombs rely on fusion, like in the sun. Harder to make, and needs a fission bomb as the FUSE.
All of which anyone could have found out in five minutes using google................

Good, thank you. Next question: How do fission and fusion take place? Dunno, but I once went to a fusion restaurant and had fission chips

One paragraph simple summaries -- what's wrong with tha abacus, do you really want everyone else to do the work for you?
Read it, digest, then you can ask specific questions. But expecting everone to explain everything you ask for it is a bit much..............................( and not helped by some of your past behaviour)

But expecting everone to explain everything you ask for it is a bit much..............................( and not helped by some of your past behaviour) If I was the expert I would try to put the information over like Brian Cox. STA I bet when you were studying physics you did not simply get a book a read through it did you? You had to go to lectures and ask questions and generally discuss things, so why should it be different on here?

I did actually, lectures weren't that important when I was at Oxford.
I'd read the book, THEN I was in a position to have a discussion about the topic, and ask questions about the bits I didn't understand.
But I had to do the reading first...........

Well why bother to go to uni when you could go read a book from the local library? Would cut down on student fees. Speaker, do me a favour love, why would people pay thousands of pounds to go to college if all they did was read books and then ask questions? Do I look stupid? Admit it, STA, you do not know how to teach, just tell, not your fault I suppose.

I can'tr answer that, you know that the most probable answer would get me into trouble........................
Abacus, stop playing this game! No one can teach someone if they aren't prepared to have a go and read something and see if they understand it or not. If you had tried reading some of the links I provided, then you could ask questions as to which bits you didn't understand.
you seem to think that teaching requires someone to:
1) Explain stuff at length
2) student says -- I don't understand
3) Teacher repeats explanation in different terms
4) Continues ad infinitum
That is not how to teach! I provided material at what I thought was an approriate level, you seem to refuse to read it. Hence there is no point me going further.
But this has all been said before -- why repeat myself, it's very boring..................
You have to TRY to ,earn abacus, put some effort in, do you really think all the effort should be on my side, with you not prepared to give ANY clues as to what you don't understand.............

Different people have different ways of learning. The fact that I have to tell you this speaks volumes STA.
But you have put your finger on your shortcoming. You do not know how to put things in different terms do you?
