At last! Someone with some nous and some standing in government circles speaks out about mad energy and green policies damaging the country's economic prospects.
MP Andrew Tyrie, who chairs the influential Commons treasury select committee, said the Government's economic response lacked a "coherent and credible" plan for growth.
“The Big Society, localism, the green strategy, whether right or wrong, these and other initiatives have seemed at best irrelevant to the task in hand, if not downright contradictory to it. “Likewise, the huge spending hike on overseas aid and the cost of the Libyan expedition.”
Is this the beginning of the end or perhaps the end of the beginning?

Sadly it makes little difference - our destiny is in the hands of Maoist Barossa and Marxist Ashdown and their cohorts. With the help of our last government and the US - we're bankrupt.

"Maoist Barossa and Marxist Ashdown" Thanks for pointing that out, I hadn't realised as I suspect, have many others... "MARXIST PARTY'S VANESSA REDGRAVE BACKS ASHDOWN" www.prnewswire.co.uk/cgi/news/release?id=24874"José Manuel Barroso" "...He was one of the leaders of the underground Maoist MRPP (Reorganising Movement of the Proletariat Party, later PCTP/MRPP, Communist Party of the Portuguese Workers/Revolutionary Movement of the Portuguese Proletariat). ..." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jos%C3%A9_Manuel_Barroso

Yup Stu, we're under the spell of some dodgy geezers. They want 1.75 trillion euros to shore up the EU. Here's what a trillion looks like: www.pagetutor.com/trillion/index.htmlAs Lenin said...the way to debase capitalism is, to first, debauch it's currency.

Interesting.
"our destiny is in the hands of Maoist Barossa and Marxist Ashdown"
I would not assume that the EU's future is that secure, Mr Smith.

Don't worry about a few billions between friends. Remember, we're all in this together. All in what, I'd not never quite worked out...until I saw this site... www.usdebtclock.org/The page opens with US debt in real time, but click on the country tabs and have a look...Ah yes, now I know what they mean..we're all in DEBT together. I feel better already! P

Unfortunately it's not billions between friends, it's trillions. The EU is unstable indeed Marchessa but that's the plan. Destroy the economy and democratic (such as it is) system then rebuild in their own image. Not much room for individual freedom in there I'm afraid.
