I think it's a product of natural selection...anyone dull and dreary enough to become a politician hasn't taken part in real life. You know - drinking and shagging and having a good time... They arrive in a position of power totally unequipped to make a rational decision based on human experience. You only have to look at the utter wankers - grey faced, flaccid little nonentities - in power to see that this must be true. No sentient, rational and balanced human being would devise such nonsense as a "carbon market".
