I see it's worse than I thought. An intensive agricultural area with many watercourses emptying into an almost LAND-LOCKED LAGOON!! Yet it's "ocean acidification" that's causing the problem??? Don't make me laugh.

I see their hatchery is "up a creek" So is any chance of you thinking logically. From the article; Whiskey Creek's 8,000 gallon water tanks take in water from the Pacific Ocean and Netarts Bay. Not from a creek. You are still grasping around trying to dismiss the evidence you specifically asked for. Get a grip man.

Snide personal attacks lazarus? Oh dear, how the mighty have fallen. Never mind, you've achieved something this weekend; you've helped bring to light another large hole in that leaky old tub - Catastrophic Anthropological Global Warming. How long before it sinks without trace?

Lazarusgate "Whiskey Creek's 8,000 gallon water tanks take in water from the Pacific Ocean and Netarts Bay." maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&q=Tillamook,+Ore.&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=Tillamook,+OR,+USA&gl=uk&ei=NM2JTPjKEsS64gbFvZyVCg&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&ct=image&resnum=1&ved=0CB0Q8gEwAA So the hatchery runs pipes all the way across the lagoon, over the spit and into the Ocean? I see. Never mind that the ocean swell will kick up all sorts of crap (sand, silt, weed) that you really don't want anywhere near a pumping system or hatchery. And that the costs of such a system would be astronomical for a small business. That's the difference between us lazarus - I have 20 years experience of this, you have none. Keep talking old sausage, I'm having fun.

Oooooh, look at the hatchery sitting next to the stream, in the practically land-locked lagoon, lazarus. Can't see any pipework heading for the (distant) ocean either. www.yelp.com/map/whiskey-creek-fish-hatchery-tillamookclick the "satellite" tab on the map and zoom in on the hatchery roof. Marvellous

I think this is worthy of a re-cap: Lazarus wrote: "You keep harping on that ocean pH hasn't changed, and all the many research papers that empirically show that it is are wrong because you keep lobsters. Then you insist that if the pH has changed it would be having an effect. You have been given a report of the effect it IS having in the Oyster Farms of NW of America. This was determined by expert oceanographers from Oregon State University. But then you come out with this nonsense above about eco insights and environmental pressure groups. Something is killing oyster larvae and the science show it is rising pH. What do you think it is?" uuuuhhh...hmmm, i dunno... BACTERIA

And that the costs of such a system would be astronomical for a small business. Hmm.. So which parts of this 'sand, silt, weed' makes it more acid in the tank but doesn't in the ocean? How does that work? Any of it make it more Alkaline? Any chance of your financial analysis that your argument is also depending on? I'm sure they will be really impressed that you keep lobsters but do you have any real evidence to challenge these scientists conclusions, any at all?

"Strategies and modifications for surviving Vibrio tubiashii in the hatchery Alan Barton, Oregon State University"
The plot thickens: The very man mentioned in the Whisky Creek Hatchery video doing a presentation on the BACTERIA that caused the larvae mortality.
I know you're getting paid for this but is it worth the embarrassment?
