Warwick Hughes says Today the 29th of May – Canberra Airport minimum temperature went under 0 degrees for the nineteenth day this month. This exceeds the 18 days under zero which were recorded in May of 1959 and 1961. The record standing now is from 1957 which had 27 days with minimums under zero. Data at Canberra Airport station # 70014 starts in 1939. I understand this is weather not climate but we all know how the BoM trumpets any warm record it can in the mainstream media – so we will be interested to see what the BoM says after the month ends. And we must remember this cold record was set despite the ever increasing Canberra urban heat island.www.warwickhughes.com/blog/?p=1014

Yes, Louise, apparently your pet bogeyman, CO2-induced Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming, causes more of everything bad and nothing good.
Amazing!
It is not clear, however, whether The Guardian (the paper that posted the delicious exposé of Dentists' ethics) is talking about ANTHROPOGENIC global warming or the natural sort.
Do you know the difference?
Very sorry if this counts as "bullying" in the WH lexicon.

Please point to where I said that it did. My point, which I thought I made quite clearly, was that unusual weather could be an indicator of climate change, regardless of whether that unusual weather is hotter or colder (or wetter or drier) than usual.

I started to form an answer, using quotes from the Guardian article, but gave up because I know they will be ignored and unread. Anything that comes with a GW tag is made with the acceptance that GW is manmade. Well 'tough titty' 'cos it hasn't been anywhere near proven yet. What can been seen, [if someone has a mind to] is that it's a band wagon and [now] a money making exercise. Originally it may have been an honest endeavour. Come join the 'Gravey Train' and Rejoice! "Climate change" is a meaningless concept. That is why it is so useful to alarmists like you, Louise.
Of course climate is the sum of weather. What else could it be?
"Unusual" weather, as you call it, is NORMAL. It is "unusual" only to you who have no historical understanding of variability.
That is why you are constantly impressed with alarmism stories about "extreme" weather.

On 30 May 2011 at 03:04:59 (Canberra time), the resident population of Australia is projected to be: 22,622,082 First settled in any numbers 1770-1800 European population 731,000,000 [if Russia and Turkey included 857,000,000] roughly 32 times smaller population than Europe, in an area twice the size Wildlife show many signs of adaption to freak occurences. I can't really formulate my ideas, what I really want to say is.. The Aussies are not numerous enough and haven't been there long enough to make much difference to their environment one way or t'other StuartG mod: correct sums! what a plonker!!

"Cate Blanchett fronts climate change push" AdNews 30 May 2011 'Say Yes Australia has enlisted actors Cate Blanchett and Michael Caton to front an ad campaign that aims to kick start a debate about the proposed carbon tax.' ..... 'Greenpeace head of communications Dae Levine told AdNews the campaign is designed to bring a level of positivity to public discourse, which she said at the moment is "base and politicised".'
"base and politicised" Who did that then? hold a mirror up, amongst others it might read 'ecaepneerG' StuartG
