I wondered if there was any way winter time could be displayed as a time stamp for messages. It does get a bit irritating when you have to work out the local time of messages. I know this will be ok when the clocks go forward but it seems a pity it can't be done for winter time.

Just assume you have the right time and everyone else is somewhere else. It's easy. The sun is due south at twelve o'clock and all the other times in the world are based on this. Used to bug me at my job in Penzance when Steve Wright would say as I was doing my do: hey, it's dark now at Radio One but the sun was still shining on my lab, 20 mins behind GMT! Trivial thing I suppose but that was Steve Wrighite.

You can change the time on screen from your own profile page. I agree it is bloody annoying when a message tells you that you have posted when you were not even there!
