"News of the World phone-hacking whistleblower found dead" Monday 18 July 2011 18.04 BST "Death of Sean Hoare – who was first named journalist to allege Andy Coulson knew of hacking – not being treated as suspicious" www.guardian.co.uk/media/2011/jul/18/news-of-the-world-sean-hoare---- Comment: His relevance to this story can be judged in the 'Panorama' video from above « Reply #8 on 16/7/2011 at 23:19 » www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00zn7hk at 03:00 minutes in. ---- "On 1 September 2010 The New York Times printed new allegations from former News of the World reporters alleging that Coulson had "actively encouraged" reporters to illegally intercept voicemail messages, and that he "was present during discussions about phone hacking".[19] Coulson has denied these latest claims.[20] Sean Hoare, - showbusiness editor at News of the World during Coulson's reign - speaking on Five Live, who accused Coulson of lying, has said that indeed Coulson did not ask him to phone hack but veiled his request in "metaphorical language" and asked him to practice his "dark arts".[21]" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andy_Coulson#Renewed_allegations_on_phone_hacking

Apps 22:50 Radio5 [Tony Livesey] reports the 'Sun Website' has been hacked and FALSE documents left to the effect that Rupert Murdoch's body had been found. The reports he said were very new and updates would be reported when they were available.
Comment: Sun website appears to be working OK. Despite reading the News headlines at 23:07 appx. he didn't report it again. ----

There is some truth in the reports, but the BBC doesn't seem to be mentioning it any more. The New York Magazine carried the story here... nymag.com/daily/intel/2011/07/website_of_murdochs_sun_hacked.html ...it says... "In a grisly prank, someone has hacked the website for Rupert Murdoch's The Sun newspaper and replaced the lead story with one about Murdoch himself being found dead. The website thesun.co.uk redirects users immediately to new-times.co.uk/sun/, which hosts a story titled "Media moguls [sic] body discovered." Reporting that the 80-year-old was found in his garden, the story jokes that he "ingested a large quantity of palladium before stumbling into his famous topiary garden late last night, passing out in the early hours of the morning." Lower on the page is a crudely drawn comic strip appearing to attribute the hacking to the computer hacking group Lulzsec. So much for being done. If it really was them, maybe they didn't want to see the hacking crown so easily handed to an old-media conglomerate." So that's how I got a 'good' response. The group 'Lulzsec' has the address lulzsecurity.com/ and when accessed gave an interim screen stating... "This page (http://lulzsecurity.com/) is currently offline. However, because the site uses CloudFlare's Always Online™ technology you can continue to surf a snapshot of the site. We will keep checking in the background and, as soon as the site comes back, you will automatically be served the live version. Alternatively, you can retry the live version." ...to be expected really. ---- "Teenager arrested in Essex over LulzSec hacking attacks" "Police question 19-year-old Ryan Cleary over claimed wave of attacks hitting Soca, the US Senate, the CIA, Nintendo and Sony " * Vikram Dodd and Josh Halliday * guardian.co.uk, Tuesday 21 June 2011 16.35 BST www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2011/jun/21/hackers-lulzsec-arrest-essex-census----

"Police handcuffed the man in connection with the attack straight away. "The Sun hacked: How it happened" "News International in urgent IT security clampdown" By Leo King | Computerworld UK | Published 12:32, 19 July 11 "The news comes as The Guardian newspaper reported that police are examining a laptop dumped near former News of the World and Sun editor Rebekah Brooks’ flat in Chelsea. Brooks’ husband, Charlie, has claimed it is his and that it was in a bag accidentally thrown out by a cleaner, but this remains unconfirmed. Rebekah Brooks was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of conspiring to intercept communications, and she was bailed the next day." www.computerworlduk.com/news/security/3292201/the-sun-hacked-how-it-happened/Comment: This article is worth a read because it looks at some recent events from the 'computer' perspective. So our progressive purple adorned liberal left have got themselves in a muck sweat. Over what? 1. The British press aren't 100% above board. 2. There are a few dodgy police officers. 3. Our politicians have little or no integrity
Ahh, the power of propaganda.....and the BBC.
Got to be THE non-story of the century....and the one before.

Good point Mr Smith.... "REAL scandal MPs ignore: As Murdoch grilling turns into farce, bankers get £14bn bonuses and IMF warns of euro meltdown" "While Westminster fiddled over the phone-hacking frenzy, the European economy was burning last night. World financial watchdogs issued an extraordinary warning of a global economic ‘earthquake’ triggered by the failure of many countries to get to grips with massive debts. To add insult to injury, it emerged yesterday that those largely responsible for bringing Britain’s economy to its knees – bankers and finance workers – have scooped bonuses totalling £14billion this year." www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2016645/REAL-scandal-MPs-ignore-As-Murdoch-grilling-turns-farce-bankers-14bn-bonuses-IMF-warns-euro-meltdown.htmlComment: USA's not much better. Iain Maciver writes … "Shetlanders launch Free Topiary on Facebook" Posted on July 31, 2011 "...Now everyone knows it was Fox’s brother Jake, the quiet lad from Sunnyside, that got his collar felt by the Met, they have gone cock-a-hoop. Not thon lad wha wis kicked outta the school? Plenty had suspicions although many were wrong. Some came close but no, it’s not Ben Davies...." maciverblog.co.uk/2011/07/31/shetlanders-launch-free-topiary-on-facebook/
