The newest angle of attack by the eco-fascists. They aim to have "ecocide" recognised as an international crime against humanity. Obviously "big oil" is the first target.

If implemented it would mean the end of the world’s most powerful industries: oil, coal, logging and concrete." Comment: What are the alternatives? [ignoring the date] Stuart

The protesters have a list of ten 'targets'.... www.crudeawakening.org.uk/node/24contrasted with... www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/2010/10/17/hundreds-gather-in-protest-at-passport-office-closure-91466-27486993/less travel, less need for passports, surely.. but the PCS mentioned in the article says "Ms Wood, who chairs the cross-party PCS union group at the Assembly, said: “We know only too well what the long term effects of mass unemployment are" fair enough, so what's the alternative, the same union wants.... "One million climate jobs now!" ' We also need a mix of energy from different places. Wind and sunshine vary from place to place. So we need to extend the national grid with cables to take electricity from wind, sun, tide and waves right across the country. The supply will balance even better across longer distances. You have more sunlight, and are certain to have steady wind, if you link up across Europe. There are also proposals to generate electricity from concentrated solar power machines in the Middle East and North Africa and send it across Europe. ' ...a stunning idea. www.pcs.org.uk/en/resources/green_workplaces/green_campaigns/one-million-climate-jobs-now.cfmwell worth a read. StuartG
