.... the state-funded German Weather Service predicts a normal winter, and adds: "A normal winter will feel cold because of the often mild temperatures experienced over the last 20 years." I should have known – now global warming causes perceived cold winters! Thanks to Pierre Gosselin of NoTricksZone notrickszone.com/2010/11/15/german-meteorologists-predict-one-of-the-worst-winters-in-a-century/Remember this spin, folks, when the warmists explain away a bitter winter by explaining its only "cold" in comparison with "mild"!

I don't follow your logic; if people have been used to experiencing mild winters over the past 20 years or so, then obviously a 'normal' winter is going to be a shock to the system.

"Shock" or not, there is no necessity to teach grandmothers to suck eggs! We know what "cold" is. But these days EVERYTHING has to be expressed in terms of "warming" doesn't it.

We have to raise people's consciousness so that they are made aware of the impending catastrophe that will ensue if action is not expressly taken.

"We have to raise people's consciousness" Spoken like a true cadre, abacus. You must stop thinking that we have all been indoctrinated marchesarosa, it's in your mind and not objectively true.

Cadres are not "indoctrinated", abacus, they are the true believers who attempt to indoctrinate everyone else. They are the vanguard! YOU are the vanguard, I should say, along with helen, enquirer, speaker and pals.
Forgot to add - those who are not gullible enough to be indoctrinated the cadres villify and persecute. Learn the lessons of history! Read 1984 at least once a decade!

Snow arrived in Leeds last night. I watched a delightful film called Irina Palm and afterwards, at 1.30 am. went to the window to look out. Magical! I look out on to a park. The snow made it almost as bright as day.
Today on the news I hear that we are in for a fortnight of this very cold weather. Looks like it could be 2009 all over again. Another harsh winter will kill off the global warming hysteria amongst the British man in the street. Incidentally I have not come across anyone who believes in AGW. All my casual recent contacts - you know, practical folk like plumbers, joiners, plasterers etc - blow the idea out of the water!
Since AGW alarmism is 95% propaganda and only 5% science this swing of public opinion matters.

Isn't it hilarious that this bitter weather is timed to perfection for the Cancun climate summit. If I was a religeous person, I'd say someone was trying to tell them something.

Recently temperatures in Alaska have been an incredible 20 degrees C above average. Perhaps someone is trying to tell Sarah Palin something?

You should watch "Deadliest Catch" on Discovery occationally. Some quotes: "Have never seen ice conditions like this in forty years" "The ice is coming down faster than I've ever seen" (from the North) "Anyone above the 58 (degrees N) is going to get slammed with ice"
All while the alarmists are claiming warm weather in Alaska.

I prefer actual readings and empirical evidence. Or should I pay more attention to homogonised, adjusted data? Get a grip man.
