I'm sorry, abacus, simply to describe the latest period of warming does nothing to explain WHY it happens.

But it is consistent with the Great Pacific Climate Shift if the mid-1970s when the PDO went into positive phase after a long period in the cool phase which also coincided with the mid-century cooling 1945-1975.

Ignore the natural causes of variation at your peril!
