Which cannot be demonstrated at present.

Then how do you account for the high incidence of homosexuality among boys that attended boarding school? Any evidence for this? Quantification? Are we talking 2%, 10%, 20%? Do you mean boys engaging in homosexual activity whilst at boarding school or do you mean remaining homosexual into their adult lives? Or are you just rolling out a load of old cliched BS?

Do you have any actual evidence (other than the anecdotal) to support this assertion?
There is a difference between homosexual activity (in boys schools/prisons etc) because they are the only sexual partners available, and being homosexual. So, most men who happen to have sex with other men when there is no other choice, are perfectly 'normal' heterosexuals once they have that opportunity.
Of course, I suspect this is just a biog wind-up from someone with pre-conceived opinions, because why ask about homosexuality and genetics, rather than some other human trait, like the ability to do maths, sporting ability, or whether or not you like broccoli.............................

So, like most well-known facts, total bollocks.
Perhaps you have watched 'If' too many times, and are unable to distinguish between fact and fiction.

Other well-known 'facts':
1) It makes you go blind
2) you can't get pregnant the first-time, or standing up.
3) you can catch VD off a loo-seat
and so on. Not a good guide for a sensible, adult approach to these matters.

Well, it strikes me you just want to argue for argument's sake.

It's a well known fact my dear. I had thought this was a joke but it seems that from your last posting you might actually believe it. Did you know that it is also a well known fact that if you eat the crusts on your bread your hair will go curly? and It's also a well known fact that if you're pulling a funny face and the wind changes then it'll stick like that.

And I think you don't know much about homosexuality -- either from an anecdotal standpoint, in terms of gay people you know, or from a scientific standpoint in terms of the masses of studies in this area.

Another unsupported claim. Believe it if you like, just don't be surprised when others spoil your little game by presenting you with evidence......................
And so it goes on. Not a scrap of actual, honest scientific discussion by any of the usual suspects...............

Abacus, your own quote from Wikipedia indicates a complex interrelationship of causes for homosexuality. The balance of these causes may vary from individual to individual. For this reason, I don't think any 'jury', except possibly one pursuing a particular agenda, is still searching for a set of causes that will account for homosexuality in any case you want to examine.
So I don't quite know what it is you are looking for.

Not a scrap of actual, honest scientific discussion by any of the usual suspects............... There is no 'hard' scientific evidence to support the claim that sexual orientation is fixed at birth, however. Until a 'gay' gene is identified all the evidence, such as it is, is circumstantial.
