Hostage-taker and environmentalist martyr James Lee wattsupwiththat.com/2010/09/02/stop-the-hysteria/was inspired by the very same views that were expressed in the very first edition of The Ecologist Magazine. Here is the Ecologist Vol 1 No1 July 1970 exacteditions.theecologist.org/exact/browse/307/308/5337/1/1Humans, it claimed, are planetary parasites. We are an infection, a “disease [that] has spread and is still spreading.” The editorial discusses “swarming human masses” and says that we, the food we produce, and the artifacts we manufacture all amount to waste products that make no ecological sense and serve no ecological purpose. As the last line of that 1970 editorial reveals, The Ecologist believes that halting “the spread of the disease with which [man] is afflicting the biosphere” is an admirable goal. These views are pretty much indistinguishable from those of Lee – as expressed on his website, SaveThePlanetProtest.com. He wants humans to: …live WITHOUT giving birth to more filthy human children since those new additions continue pollution and are pollution... He declares the “planet does not need humans” and that: Nothing is more important than saving them. The Lions, Tigers, Giraffes, Elephants, Froggies, Turtles, Apes, Raccoons, Beetles, Ants, Sharks, Bears, and, of course, the Squirrels. Any opinion on this mentally ill environmental activist from our Friends of the Earth and Greenpeace members? "Mentally ill"?
I see no more evidence of illness in your quotes than I see in the posts of those who try and pretend the climate isn't changing, or that the changes are perfectly natural and nothing to worry about.

Any opinion ... from our Friends of the Earth and Greenpeace members? I didn't reply as the question clearly wasn't aimed at me

Supervillain, you are being disingenuous! James Lee was an extremist who took his ideology from the same source as you do - Ecology Magazine and similar. He does not know the difference between science fact and science fiction any more than you and your trollhunter pal do! The world is not one of those computer games where good battles evil, you know. That's only inside your heads, poor gulls, and sadly, also inside the head of James Lee, the environmentalist suicide bomber. Read more here about the mental desperation beneath the surface of some genuine believers in climate apocalypse. Remember the Argentinian couple who killed themselves and their children because of the fear of "Climate Change"? wattsupwiththat.com/2010/09/02/stop-the-hysteria/Stop the hysteria, please, kiteman and Joe K! That's for ladies, not grown men! This kid scares me, not your science fiction version of "Apocalyptic Climate Change" You see where this perpetual scare-mongering leads?

I see you're still having bile-duct trouble Please try to avoid ad hominem attacks on other posters - they don't actually move the debate any further. Your point could have been made without resorting to these tactics. e.g. "James Lee was an extremist who took his ideology from Ecology Magazine and similar. He does not appear to know the difference between science fact and science fiction. The world is not one of those computer games where good battles evil. Sadly, that's what appears to be inside the head of James Lee, the environmentalist suicide bomber"

If your name had been posted in cyberspace as a target for JoeK's pals to "browbeat" perhaps you would be a little more incensed at the extremes these idiots resort to in their vendetta. trollhunterx.webs.com/apps/profile/46856668/These people dmonstrate their lack of judgment every time they open their mouths to needle and harass their "enemies".

These people dmonstrate their lack of judgment every time they open their mouths to needle and harass their "enemies". As do you if you take the same approach. Rise above it. Do not lower yourself to that level. Show them that you are better than that. PS this "because he has convinced himself she is MY alter ego" sounds a little familiar

Any opinion on this mentally ill environmental activist from our Friends of the Earth and Greenpeace members? As your next post confirms, this is another claim that I'm a member of Friends of the Earth. I have never been a member of Friends of the Earth, although I have posted on their message board, to raise the issue of how local supporters were in cahoots with Labour and Liberal politicians to turn speculation about a 'giant incinerator' into a political football to attack the Tory-led council with. Your judgement is impaired by your emotional instability. If you keep littering your 'good faith' postings with personal attacks, don't be surprised if they get reported. That bilge about being able to have a civilised debate without 'catpeeing' is as asinine an argument here as it was on R4.

OK, JoeK, you are a self-styled "trollhunter" who is NOT a member of Friends of the Earth.
Who are you, anyway, to persecute anyone from your cyberhovel? You wouldn't recognise "good faith" if it hit you in the face and you have demonstrated that MANY times.

Funny, but that seems to be the only link you have for my site. Did you even read this one, or did you just take someone's word for it that I really claimed I would defend 'free speech', 'to the death'?: trollhunterx.webs.com/apps/blog/show/4647470-to-evelyn-beatrice-hallAnd what part of ' this is the place where you can browbeat a suspected troll to your heart's content' suggests that I am encouraging anyone to browbeat a suspected troll elsewhere? 'Informed poster'? Informed by the voices in your head? 'Point taken, Havelock'? (11:35) Not so much...

Your judgement is impaired by your emotional instability. This doesn't help either JoeK - let's all be good posters and respect this forum we've been lucky enough to have created for us and just address the science in each others' postings. If some make attacks on you, show them that you are better than them by ignoring the attack (or stating how much you regret they have taken that approach) but just respond to the science.

Again, to be absolutely clear, it says ' this is the place where you can browbeat a suspected troll to your heart's content', not 'go and browbeat suspected trolls somewhere else'. I provide a link to a typical example of a given individual's 'work', so that anyone viewing the site can judge for themselves if that person has earned the accolade.
Actually, the fact that no-one has yet signed on to the site to do any browbeating suggests that it has not achieved what I'd hoped, that is, given people a way of responding to trollish types without disrupting civilised threads in exactly the way many trolls want. Still, I'd like to think that just the fact that someone has put the finger on someone's behaviour might be a win. Posters might be saying 'well, I could go over there and have a bash at this annoying person if I wanted to, but now I don't feel the need so much'.
So I'll just leave it there for now. If people want to argue about whether someone is really a troll or not, they're welcome to to do so as well.

The board flies are out. Minor irritants with no other purpose. It's a shame most boards suffer from an infestation. Where's my DDT?
